After almost 4 years of competitive roller derby, I am pushing my focus back to equine sports with mounted shooting. There is a lot of inspirational quotes that keep me going, but in the moment when I need it, I always lean on John Wayne "courage is being scared to death, but saddling up anyway". Life is about living daringly and being true to yourself. That in itself keeps me going.

Back in my early days with Pepsi, as a joke, one of the barn moms gave me a plaque that said something like "one must not only be able to fall, but must be able to get back on the horse as well" which perfectly describes me and my naughty quarter horse!!!

My horse and I don't always have the same opinion about mounted shooting so I always repeat Phillippians 4:6 - Don't worry about anything, pray about everything. I think I might start adding Ride it like you stole it to the end of that :)

I haven't competed in Cowboy Mounted Shooting yet, but have attended a couple clinics. I think "Ready, Steady, Poised - I can do this!" is a saying that I would use.

My mantra right now is "shoot between 3 and 9". Our horse is steady as can be and we're trying not to sour him.
